English Translation
Preamble:
Meditate on Vishnu — clad in white, of the color of the moon, four-armed and with a serene face — for the pacification of all obstacles.
I take refuge in Vishvaksena, whose attendants, led by Ganesha, number more than a hundred and constantly destroy obstacles.
I salute Vyasa — grandson of Vasishtha, grandson of Shakti, sinless son of Parashara, father of Shuka, a treasure of austerity.
The Stotra:
Harih Om.
1. He is the universe (Vishvam), Vishnu, the one who accepts the Vashat (yajna call), the Lord of past, present and future beings, the creator of beings, the supporter of beings, the consciousness of beings, the very Self of beings, the nurturer of beings.
2. He is the pure Soul, the Supreme Soul, the highest refuge of the liberated; the imperishable, the Purusha, the Witness, the Knower of the field, the Imperishable.
3. He is Yoga itself, the leader of those who know yoga, the Lord of Pradhana and Purusha, the one with the body of Narasimha, the glorious one, Keshava, the Supreme Person.
4. He is the all (Sarva), the destroyer (Sharva), the auspicious (Shiva), the stable (Sthanu), the source of all beings, the inexhaustible treasure, the origin, the nourisher, the bearer, the source of existence, the mighty, the Lord.
5. He is self-born (Svayambhu), Shambhu, Aditya, lotus-eyed, of great sound, without beginning or end, the placer, the creator, the highest of all elements.
Fruit of Recitation:
Whoever hears and recites these names — all that is desired in his mind will quickly come to pass.
I declare that the chanting of Vishnu's names grants liberation — calm, still, peaceful, and non-dual to the Self.
