कालकाजी मंदिर
Kalkaji Mandir is one of the oldest and most venerated ancient temples in Delhi. It is believed to be a 'Manokamna Siddha Peetha' (where all desires of the devotees are fulfilled by the Goddess).
Mythology
Legend states that millions of years ago, the gods invoked Goddess Kushmanda here to fight the demons. Out of her eyebrows, Goddess Kalika appeared and killed the demons, drinking their blood to prevent them from multiplying. She decided to reside here as a Swayambhu (self-manifested) idol. The Pandavas and Kauravas are also said to have worshipped here before the Mahabharata war.
