मुक्तेश्वर मंदिर
Dating back to 950-975 CE, it is considered the 'Gem of Odisha Architecture'. The name Mukteshvara translates to 'Lord who gives freedom through yoga'. It is a pivotal monument in the evolution of Kalinga architecture, marking the transition from the early to the mature phase.
Mythology
The temple is closely associated with the Pashupata sect of Shaivism, as evident from the numerous sculptures of ascetic figures in meditative poses on the walls.
