सुगंधा मंदिर, शिकारपुर
Timings are approximate for this small, lesser-visited temple. No fixed midday closure reported. Verify with local priests before visiting.
Sugandha is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas where fragments of Sati's body fell. At Shikarpur on the banks of the Bhagirathi, Sati's nose (nasika) is believed to have fallen — and the goddess is therefore called Sugandha, meaning "the Fragrant One" or "the One of Sweet Scent." The presiding Bhairava is Tryambaka (Three-Eyed Shiva). The site lies along the Bhagirathi river in Murshidabad, a district renowned for its Mughal-era heritage and Bengal's sacred geography.
