It is the most famous and oldest Shiva temple in Dehradun. The temple is unique because it is situated inside a natural cave where water droplets continuously fall onto the Shiva Linga.
Mythology
The temple cave is named Drona Cave after Dronacharya (the guru of the Pandavas and Kauravas), who is believed to have lived and meditated here. It is said that when his son Ashwatthama cried for milk, Lord Shiva caused milk to drip from the cave roof. Over time, the milk turned to water.
