श्री माता वैष्णो देवी मंदिर
The Bhawan (main shrine) is open 24 hours daily. Entry is controlled by RFID checkpoints. The Bhairavnath Temple is open 5:00 AM–12:00 PM and 4:00 PM–9:00 PM.
One of the most sacred Shakti shrines in India and among the 108 Shakta Peethas (some traditions place it as one of the holiest). The goddess is believed to be self-manifest (swayambhu) as three natural rock formations (Pindis) — not sculpted idols — representing the Tridevi: Mahakali (dissolution), Mahalakshmi (preservation), and Mahasaraswati (creation). The cave itself is considered the physical abode of the goddess who has resided here since Satya Yuga. The Mahabharata mentions the goddess as residing in a "mountainside temple in Jambhu (Jammu)" — one of the oldest recorded references.
