Varadavinayak is the fourth temple of the Ashtavinayak circuit. The name means the giver of boons (Varada).
Mythology
The legend involves Prince Rukmangad and Sage Vachaknavi's wife, Mukunda. Lord Indra visited Mukunda in the guise of Rukmangad. A child named Gritsamada was born. Upon learning of his origin, Gritsamada retreated to the Pushpak forest and prayed to Ganesha. Ganesha granted him a boon that he would be an invincible warrior and established himself there as Varadavinayak.
